Shibari, rope and rope jams in Toronto

Toronto is the country’s second hub and its first in English. The scene is more scattered than Montréal’s: fewer permanent venues, more organisations renting a room for the night. Rope groups and queer collectives are especially active.

Rope bondage has its own scene in Canada, its own studios and its own vocabulary. You will find shibari, kinbaku, and plenty of people who simply tie without putting a label on it. Several cities have an active group and, most weeks, at least one gathering.
